Fintech veteran Mats Almström appointed as new board member of Vermiculus Financial Technology

Stockholm, 19 June, 2024 – Vermiculus Financial Technology, the leading provider of technology solutions for exchanges, clearing houses and CSDs worldwide – has welcomed the new board member Mats Almström.  

Mats Almström is a seasoned IT architect with more than 30 years of experience from trading, clearing, and CSD projects worldwide such as AMEX in New York, Alpha Exchange in Toronto and B3 in São Paulo. In his current role at Vermiculus, he is involved in building B3’s new CSD by customizing Vermiculus' VeriSafe™ product to meet B3's requirements. 

“Mats Almström’s extensive experience in financial technology will be invaluable to the board. He played a crucial role in establishing Vermiculus’ microservice foundation. In addition to his strategic technology expertise, Mats is also a valued colleague who will protect the interests of the employees’ shareholding," said Nils-Robert Person, Chairman of Vermiculus. 

In line with Vermiculus’ strategic decision for employees to be the majority owners of the company, Mats Almström has been appointed to the board to support and uphold this ownership structure. 

“When I received the offer to join Vermiculus in the summer of 2020, the decision was a no-brainer, of course I wanted to join. I have seen Vermiculus grow and become a unique place to work at, where hard work and great fun goes hand in hand. My aim as a board member is to represent the partners and maintain the company culture, and ensure it remains a long-term profitable and healthy company,” commented Mats Almström.

Mats Almström’s appointment to the board of Vermiculus takes effect immediately.
